Intercultural Competence

Cultural differences enrich our lives, but they can also lead to miscommunications

Last year we had our first international event! During the quiz it was great to see the cultural differences between the Younglinkers. Therefore, we decided to organize a workshop together with the RUGs Language Center about cultural differences!

Cultural differences enrich our lives, but they can also lead to miscommunications. People from other countries think, feel and act differently than you might be used to. Culture plays an important role in this.

The chance that you as a young professional will encounter an international setting is large. More and more companies look beyond the Dutch borders and an increasing number of internationals live and work here are in Northern Netherlands.

Want to know more? Come to the International Welcome Centre in Groningen on June 24 and find out what culture really is, how misunderstandings arise and how you can benefit by working with different cultures.
