As Senior Crew Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead and support a team of Crew Managers, with a specific focus on the EU-based pool of seafarers. You will oversee daily operations, coach colleagues, and ensure high performance within your team. You take initiative in evaluating and improving planning procedures and play an active role in shaping the manning strategy. You are a natural communicator who connects easily across departments, offices and cultures.
What will you do?
In this senior role, you are also responsible for ensuring optimal crewing of our dry-cargo vessels operating worldwide. You coordinate the planning of EU-based seafarers, ensuring compliance with international maritime legislation such as STCW and MLC, as well as client-specific requirements. You maintain a dedicated group of seafarers, act as their primary point of contact, and ensure they hold valid documentation (certificates, medicals, visas, etc.).
You will work closely with international Manning Agents and our offices in the Netherlands, the Philippines, and Eastern Europe. In addition, you represent Wagenborg Crewmanagement at job fairs, visit vessels, and build strong relations with maritime training institutes to attract new talent.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven leadership experience, preferably in a similar position
- Is experienced in crewing and familiar with EU maritime legislation
- Understands and applies STCW and MLC frameworks
- Is communicative, proactive and solution-focused
- Works accurately under pressure and enjoys the dynamics of a 24/7 environment
- Has excellent command of the English language (working language within the team)
- Holds a relevant bachelor’s degree or has equivalent professional experience
