Career Services and Corporate Relations
The department of Career Services and Corporate Relations (CS&CR) of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is responsible for a wide range of career services for students, to support them in their development towards their professional career and life. The department aims to foster the employability of the students with services like internships, student consultancy projects, learning communities, skills training and career events. The department supports the degree programmes in embedding activities that support students’ professional development within the educational programmes. The activities are realized in close cooperation with our study associations, external partner organizations and FEB Alumni. The department’s staff members work in their own task areas, but also together in multidisciplinary project teams with colleagues from other departments and with external stakeholders.

Job description

As a project leader, you will participate in a number of projects to help students enhance their employability. Employability is not the same as acquiring a graduate job. Rather, it refers to the complete set of knowledge, skills and attitudes that help students to become successful in their professional life. Students develop their employability profile largely within their educational programmes. It is our goal is to improve student engagement with their professional development and to improve student awareness about how their study programme contributes to their professional development. In your role, you will work closely together with the programmes to help them achieve these goals. You will collaborate with programme management and educational staff to develop and implement new employability initiatives. Moreover, you will coordinate existing career events and workshops within our department. In your job, you will work closely together with our student team, career coaches, skills trainers, communication officers and external stakeholders.

Examples of projects

- Organisation of our annual three day career event with the help of our student team
- Coordination of our weekly career webinars
- Developing and implementing a structure or system that supports students to gain insight in their professional development and to take ownership over their development.


The following skills, abilities and qualifications are required:

• MSc level of thinking and working
• experience in working in a complex, dynamic and constantly changing environment
• experience in project management in the context of higher education or in a comparable context
• knowledgeable about student employability in an academic setting or at least demonstrable affinity with this subject
• you can relate to the target group: a diverse and international population of students and staff
• knowledge of modern communication tools and no fear for new technology
• excellent planning, organizing, and collaboration skills
• proactive, creative, flexible and hands-on mentality
• excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Dutch.

Conditions of employment

Contract length: 12 months.

What we are offering you in accordance with the collective Labour agreement for Dutch Universities:

• a salary depending on qualifications and work experience starting from a minimum of € 2,979 gross per month and a maximum of € 4,093 (salary scale 9) for a full-time position
• 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees
• a position of 0.6 or 0.8 FTE for the period of one year with the possibility to extend for a longer period, based on your performance and organisational developments.
