ERIBA
Werkomgeving
The European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing (ERIBA) is a research institute at the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG). ERIBA aims to discover molecular mechanisms of ageing that can be used as targets to prevent or delay age-related diseases. Our research teams are working with different model systems and technology platforms and share their knowledge and expertise to accelerate discoveries. ERIBA is part of the central UMCG campus, located Groningen, The Netherlands.
Functiebeschrijving
The Laboratory of Macromolecules and Interactomes at ERIBA is looking for an experienced post-doc researcher to develop mass spectrometry-based assays for protein mass spectrometry.
The successful applicant will be encouraged to initiate novel research projects that excite them, within the domains of interest of our lab. Some of our long-running topics can be gleaned here . The successful applicant will also be expected to collaborate with others in the lab to leverage MS-based proteomics in their projects. We focus mostly on quantitative affinity proteomics using bottom-up analyses – however exciting method development proposals that capitalize on our research infrastructure, and open new directions, will be enthusiastically supported.
We have access to multiple MS instruments, but our primary instrument is a Thermo Exploris 480 (w/ BioPharma option and FAIMS) interfaced with an UltiMate 3000 nano HPLC system. We also have a 908 Devices ZipChip for CE-MS and a many other new and interesting instruments for analytical biochemistry and proteomic assay development. We will prioritize applicants with excellent training in the operation of Thermo Orbitrap instruments. Prior experience with protein immunoprecipitation and/or scientific programming in R would be considered highly advantageous for applicants.
