Diversity and Inclusion at the RUG

For our Diversity & Inclusion Office we are looking for a communication advisor who has affinity with the theme of D&I and wants to contribute to the internal and external communication around (the activities of) the D&I Office.

Tasks:

- you support the D&I Office in communicating with employees and students
- you will be responsible for drawing up and implementing a communication plan and coordinating communication activities that align with the D&I Action Plan
- you translate the D&I policy into communication items
- you ensure the visibility of the D&I office and activities through various communication channels
- you manage the website and develop it based on developments within the D&I Office
- you will support the Chief D&I Officer and the programme coordinator with the writing of texts and reports
- you will assist with the organization and promotion of D&I activities and events
- you give solicited and unsolicited advice about D&I communications within the University, to the Communications Office among other departments.

Requirements

- you have an affinity and experience with the theme of diversity and inclusion
- you have a higher professional education (HBO) and a communications-related degree
- you have experience as a communications officer and knowledge of various communication channels
- you have understanding of/experience with inclusive language use
- you like to immerse yourself in the various target groups and think of original ways in which our message can best reach them
- you have excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English
- experience with Prospero and/or Apollo web editor is a plus
- you are creative, organized and proactive
- you work well together in a team but also independently.

Conditions of employment

Contract length: 12 months.

In accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, we offer the following terms of employment:

- a salary, based on qualifications and experience, of between € 2,979 and € 4,093 (salary scale 9 based on the UFO profile Communication Officer 1) gross per month, based on a full-time appointment
- an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus over the annual gross income
- the option to choose a work week of 36, 38, or 40 hours (based on full-time employment)
- a minimum of 29 days of holiday leave, and in the case of full-time employment, 12 extra days of holiday leave
- good opportunities for training and development
- the position is initially a temporary one for the period of one year.

Starting date preferably 1 September 2023
