Job description
AJSPH is looking for a project employee to work on a cross-border health project. The candidate will be working for the Cross-border Institute of Healthcare Systems and Prevention (CBI), which is part of the AJSPH. The position is inserted in the project “Cross-border cooperation in healthcare for more healthy years in the DE-NL Northern region” (Health4DE-NL), which is financed by INTERREG VI A Deutschland-Nederland. The ideal candidate has a high degree of independence and is a communicator per excellence. You are able to continuously switch between strategic, tactical and operational tasks and goals.
In the project, you connect with the academic network of the University of Groningen and the University of Oldenburg. Also, you connect with healthcare professionals and health policy makers from hospitals, public health offices and citizens from municipalities of both sides of the Northern Dutch-German border region.
You like to share your knowledge and experiences with the team and at the same time you are open to considering the team as your learning environment.
As a project employee you will:
- Draw up and implement project plans for consortia consisting of knowledge institutions, hospitals, public health offices and government.
- Write interim and final reports and escalate them to the steering committee and project leader.
- Prepare consortium meetings and manage the community of a multidisciplinary cross-border health network.
- Provide support in the implementation of public engagement activities at the border region of the Northern DE-NL border.

Requirements
The candidate we are looking for meets the following job requirements:
- University level, preferably trained in the field of communication and marketing.
- Excellent proficiency of German, Dutch and English language, both spoken and written.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Energetic pragmatist with project management experience and the commitment to create societal impact in the border region.
- Hands-on team player who also knows how to achieve goals.
- Experience in putting together and guiding ad hoc project teams in a cross-border environment.
- Academic working and thinking level.
Conditions of employment
Contract length: 12 months.
We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch universities:
- A salary depending on qualifications and work experience, starting from a minimum of € 3,218 gross per month to a maximum of € 4,298 gross per month (salary scale 8) for full-time employment, excluding holiday pay and end-of-year bonus.
- A holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income and an 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance.
- A temporary employment for one year.
Starting date from 1 July 2025
