What will be your role?
As a Maritime Training Coordinator you are responsible for the coordination and management of training programs for staff within the maritime sector. You ensure that employees comply with necessary certifications, regulations, and possess the skills required to work safely and efficiently. In addition, you act as a liaison between external training institutes, employees, and management.
Key responsibilities:
- Training coordination
You coordinate and schedule internal and external training sessions for maritime personnel. You monitor the progress of training programs and ensure timely execution. In addition, you have an eye for cost efficiency and control the training budget. - Certification and compliance
You oversee compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for the maritime industry, such as STCW, safety training, and maritime certifications and ensure timely renewal and validation of employees' certificates and licenses. - Support and advise
You advise employees on available training opportunities and career development and organize feedback sessions after training programs to assess effectiveness and satisfaction. - External partnerships
You collaborate with external training institutes, trainers, and maritime organizations to ensure the quality of training and help select external training institutes when necessary. - Reporting and administration
You prepare reports on the progress and outcomes of training programs and maintain training records and ensure timely documentation of completed certifications.
This position requires excellent organizational and coordination skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. In addition, we are looking for someone who is proactive, results-oriented, can work under pressure and can work independently and as part of a team. You consult with and reports to the Senior Operational Manager.

Job requirements
- HBO (Higher Professional Education) level or equivalent, preferably in a relevant field such as Maritime Technology, Maritime Management, or Human Resource Management.
- Experience in the maritime sector or with specific maritime training programs is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in a coordinating role within the maritime sector or in a similar position.
- Experience in planning training programs and working with maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Knowledge of STCW and other maritime certifications and compliance requirements.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken).
