We are looking for lecturers in Theoretical Philosophy for courses and parts of courses on the following topics: (1) philosophy of science in the minor programme Philosophy, the BA programme Philosophy, and the MA programme Philosophy, Science and Humanities; (2) formal epistemology in the the BA programme Philosophy; (3) Feminist epistemology in the MA Philosophy; (4) Philosophy of biology and medicine in the BA programme Philosophy of a specific discipline; (5) Philosophy of economics in the MA Philosophy, Politics and Economics. These posts are teaching posts only. They do not include research time. Teaching is face-to-face. The positions add up to 1.1–1.4 FTE.
There is pedagogical and peer support available in the department.
We expect to recruit two or three teachers, depending on the preferences and expertise of the applicants.

Functie-eisen
The candidate we are looking for will have
- A PhD in Philosophy.
- A strong background in epistemology and/or philosophy of sciences.
- Experience of teaching at university level.
- Intellectual drive, enthusiasm and open-mindedness.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- An excellent command of English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Dutch is preferable but not essential.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Contractduur: 12 months.
We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
- A salary depending on qualifications and work experience starting from a minimum of € 3,226 to a maximum of € 5,090 (salary scale 10, job profile teacher/docent) for a full-time position.
- Excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees.
- Temporary part-time positions for the period of max. 1 year.
The Committee will seek to achieve a balanced composition of the departmental team in terms of gender and cultural diversity.
