Who are we looking for
We are looking for a skilled colleague with knowledge and expertise in project management and good insight about the water technology industry.
Where are you going to get started
The lectorate of Water Technology is an University of Applied Sciences (HBO) research group focused on physical water and wastewater processes, e.g. thermo desalination, electrohydrodynamics, nano-particles in water, aeration, iron removal. Among other characteristics, HBOs are company demand’s driven research groups, which means the work is performed in close cooperation with industries and companies inside and outside Europe.
What are you going to do
In this position you will be invited to manage the different projects of our research group. The candidate will have to actively work on controlling the different phases of the project, from acquisition to finalization. This will be done via regular contacts with companies, teachers, researchers, students and university partners inside and outside The Netherlands. During the acquisition phase, the candidate provides essential support to build the necessary network, contacting companies, organizations, subsidy agencies and subsidy advisers and also preparing and submitting proposals (with support of the lector). During the execution phase the project manager will control the good flow of project goals and finances, as well as manage the communication between the different consortia partners. During finalization, the support is provided for the preparation of the final documents, closeup events and supporting the visualization of the project main outputs together with colleagues from the media and communication department.
A bachelor’s in management or natural sciences with experience in project management. Good knowledge or experience with the Water Technology industry is a plus.
Experience with project management.
Experience with academic (Dutch and European) subsidies.
Good communication skills, good reporting and presentation skills, fluency in English and Dutch. Good knowledge of the Portuguese language is a plus.
Demonstrable work experience in organizing and conducting research
Experienced in drafting research proposals
Experienced in working in small research teams

Working in a unique environment, combining high voltage and water technology to develop new and strategic ideas in both fields. The salary is a maximum of € 4.569,57 (scale 10 CAO HBO) gross per month for a full-time job, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus. The contract is initially for one year/half year, starting date as soon as possible. Place of employment is Leeuwarden.
