Who are we looking for 

We are looking for candidates with a master's degree in the field of Leisure, Tourism or Hospitality or in another field relevant to these industries. Someone who wants to deepen his/her knowledge, enhance his/her personal development and contribute to solutions of practical problems. 

Additional to the above, the requirements are either: 

  • Academic staff working at universities of applied sciences/academic universities looking for a further step in their research career. 

  • Managers and senior professionals working in private/public organisations in the domain. 

  • Graduates of a university of applied sciences or academic university master's programme. 

Profile requirements 

  • Independence, perseverance, curiosity, collaborative spirit and a drive to improve practice. 

  • Demonstrable research and publication experience is a plus. 

  • An international industry background in Leisure, Tourism or Hospitality and customer experiences. 

  • A relevant Master degree.  

  • Strong international academic and professional network.  

  • Proven track-record in co-creation of knowledge between industry and education.  

  • Proven ability to develop, manage and report on funded research projects. 

  • Excellent oral and written communicator.  

  • It is recommended that you master the Dutch language in order to operate in the Dutch business context.

What we offer: 

  • During this study you will be supported by the AIHR and/or ETFI research unit and by trainings offered to develop your research skills even more. 

  • You will work in a multidisciplinary team and be supervised by a Professor and a representative of the LTH-domain.

Your application will be judged by an NHL Stenden selection committee to decide on nomination to the National PD Graduate Committee. This National PD Graduate Committee decides if you will be admitted to the PD study.
