The school of Communication, Media & IT is currently looking for a Lecturer-researcher Master International Communication (0.8 FTE).

Job description

As a Lecturer-researcher, you provide the lessons for various subjects within the Master International Communication. You will be part of a truly international community with 30 nationalities. We distinct ourselves that we are a practised based programme and we educate our students to become an international communication professional. You are going to work in a world classroom handling cultural diversity and dealing with different knowledge levels. The subject you will provide concerns the following topics:
- Corporate Communication.
- Strategic Brand management.
- Intercultural Communication.
- Personal Leadership.
- Research and online monitoring.
- Issues and Crisis management.
- Coaching graduating projects.

Another responsibility will be graduation coaching. Our students start their graduation before this summer holiday. As a lecturer-researcher, you also take part in applied cutting edge research for the professorship Communication, Behaviour and Sustainable Society.

Where are you going to work?
You will be employed at the School of Communication, Media & IT (SCMI). SCMI is the biggest school within the Hanzehogeschool. You will be employed at the master study International Communication. The head of education will be your supervisor. The cluster Communication consists of one bachelor with two majors, Communication and International Communication, and the master International Communication.

The Master International Communication is a 90-ec (1,5 year) graduate program with 160 students from over all over the world and an international and caring teaching staff. Together we are facing the international and intercultural challenges. Over 80% of our students finds a job within international communication.

The Master International Communication (IC) is a study programme for inquisitive students who understand the effects that messages, news and campaigns have on society, who feel comfortable using modern communication technology and who consider the world as their home. Our graduates develop competences that are valued most by employers and that are crucial for effective communication management. We train a new generation of communicators ready to take on each situation, equipped with problem solving skills, vision and strategic insights: international communication experts who are able to raise their game and inspire global as well as personal change.

Requirements and competences

- A PhD in the field of communication or a PhD candidate.
- International Experience.
- 3 years’ experience in a world classroom.
- Experience with digital communication.
- Active professional network in related international communication field.
- Strong affinity with Sustainable development goals and research.
- Teaching and applied research experience.
- Experience in activating didactics.

What do we offer?

The salary will amount to a gross minimum € 3.453,- and a gross maximum € 5.026,- per month based on a full time position. The function scale is 11 cao hbo. In addition, you will be entitled to holiday pay and a year-end bonus. Hanze UAS offers plenty of opportunities for further development in your field. It concerns a structural vacancy in which we first offer an annual contract with the possibility to extend the contract. Start date is as soon as possible. .
