NLRN is led by a steering group consisting of seven scholars from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and working at different research performing organization across the Netherlands. The NLRN aims to facilitate: 1) large-scale implementation of transparent and reproducible workflows and 2) the exchange and further development of innovations in research on reproducibility. NLRN will do so by promoting training activities and disseminating best practices, supporting meta-scientific research and by coordinating efforts in collaboration with stakeholders from local grass-roots initiatives (e.g., Open Science Communities), (academic) research institutions and other stakeholder organizations (e.g., funders).
The coordinator will be affiliated to the workplace of the steering group lead of NLRN, the department of Primary and Long term Care at the UMCG. The Department consists of seven sections, operating on the three core tasks of research, education and patient care. The coordinator will work in the research sub department.

Functiebeschrijving

The coordinator will be the driving force in further developing the network and in planning and organizing activities, working in close collaboration with the steering group and serving as a bridge between the steering group, network members and other stakeholders. The coordinator will organize activities such as symposia and webinars, take care of communication and dissemination within the network (e.g. via social media and the website), keep the website up to date, actively think about future activities and support the steering group in identifying and contacting relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the coordinator will support the steering group in the development and curation of training materials and in designing implementation strategies together with stakeholders from the network.

Wat vragen wij

We are looking for a coordinator with an academic degree and at least two years of working experience in a research performing organization, e.g. a university. The coordinator should possess excellent organization as well as communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in English and preferably in Dutch. We are looking for a person with an inquisitive and critical mind, who is creative and who thrives in making collaborations work. The coordinator is skilled at communicating with professionals across different levels of the network. Experience in coordinating or developing a community and demonstrable experience in organizing events and in managing a website are great assets for this position. Knowledge of and skills related to reproducibility and open science are an advantage, the motivation to learn more about these concepts, a must.

The UMCG has a preventive Hepatitis B policy. The UMCG can provide you with the vaccination, should it be required for your position.
In case of specific professions a ‘Certificate of Good Conduct’ is required.

Wat bieden wij

We offer a temporary position (25,2 hours a week / 0,7 FTE) for a year, with the possibility of a two-year extension. Your salary will be a maximum of € 5.088 gross per month (scale 10), depending on your qualifications and relevant experience, based on a full-time appointment. In addition, the UMCG will offer you 8% holiday pay, and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The conditions of employment comply with the Collective Labour Agreement for Medical Centres (CAO-UMC).
