Werkomgeving

The UMCG Genomics Coordination Center (GCC) provides software, tools and services in the area of genomics big data sets. As such we participate in a wide range of national and international collaborations, aiming at FAIR data management and quick implementation of state-of-the-art (scientific) genome analysis tools. Within the GCC you are working in a multidisciplinary team on feature development of our open-source software platforms MOLGENIS and Armadillo. MOLGENIS is a flexible platform for management and querying of large (biological) data sets, such as cohorts and biobanks. As part of the DataSHIELD platform, Armadillo is a tool for ‘shielded’ analysis of such datasets. Our team of 40+ developers is open-source minded and prepared to be one step ahead of technological possibilities. The GCC is organized in topic-based teams and day-to-day work is planned using Scrum methodology. Our developers like clean coding and have a strong focus on reusability of code and functionality.
