Where will you be working

At the International Business (IB) study programme in Leeuwarden, which is part of the Academy of Commerce & International Business, there is a vacancy for a support officer. IB Office is a place with various interesting challenges; hence the need for an energetic new colleague.  

The 50 staff members of IB educate approximately 800 students for national and international (commercial) positions in trade, industry and service. The study programme is offered at our locations Emmen and Leeuwarden. IB also offers minors for the Grand Tour on Bali, Thailand and in China. 

What will you be doing
As support staff with colleagues in Leeuwarden and Emmen you will be at the administrative beating heart of IB.

The activities of this challenging position are a.o.:

  • Acting as point of contact/guide for students and the tutorial team with regard

to administrative and organisational matters.

  • Supporting team leaders and various committees.
  • Organizing, preparing and supporting processes and activities that vary in nature and

composition, such as information activities, graduation ceremonies, periodic evaluations and the start of the academic year.

  • Handling email inboxes & intranet.
  • Taking minutes at various meetings. 
  • Taking care of mailings and (news)letters. 
  • Agenda management for both team leaders. 
  • Administrative support for the various IB Office projects.
  • Handling and monitoring action points.

Who are we looking for

As a Support Officer at IB, you bring these skills and qualities to the team:

  • MBO 4 level.
  • Professional knowledge of management support methods.
  • Knowledge of administrative and logistic project organisation.
  • Good written and oral language skills in the English language.
  • General administrative knowledge and insight into improvements.
  • Able to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Very experienced in MS Office 365: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in working with educational software is preferred. 
  • A customer-friendly attitude, tact, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and professional.
  • Capable of being an ambassador for the programme in general, internally and externally. 


We offer:

  • Start: 22 August 2022.
  • This position is at pay scale 6 (max EUR 2.961,59) gross per month based on a full-time employment).
  • The function is for the period of one year during which you will be contracted as co-worker secretarial B. A permanent tenure might become a possibility.
