The school of Communication, Media & IT is currently looking for an Assistant teacher Bachelor International Communication (0.7 FTE).

For the English taught bachelor program International Communication (IC) we are currently looking for an assistant teacher to join and help our team thrive.

Job description

As an assistant teacher, you help and support our lecturers and programme manager in their day to day business:
- Supporting the organization of social and network events for students (ComPro for example)
- Supporting recruitment activities such as Open Days and taster sessions
- Making communication products as information flyers or banners
- Supporting activities for alumni
- Supporting teaching staff in workshops, making educational materials (e.g. videos, presentations)
- Supporting staff in research and lesson preparation
- Making content for our social media channels

In this position you are reporting to the Programme Manager International Communication.

The English taught bachelor program International Communication (IC)

With a group of around 30 professionals and 11 different nationalities we prepare students for an international career in every facet of the communication field. We support students to become pro-active, creative and responsible communication professionals. International and intercultural competencies are an important part of the bachelor programme. Around 70% of our students are coming from outside of the Netherlands which makes our classroom a truly international one.
Hanze University of Applied Sciences (Hanze UAS) is a multidisciplinary university of applied sciences. Its mission is to deliver skilled and committed professionals and conduct applied research. The school of Communication, Media & IT (SCMI) of Hanze offers two communication bachelor programmes, one Dutch taught and one English taught.

Requirements and competences

- Bachelor degree.
- Good communication skills and excellent reputation among our teachers.
- Willing to contribute to our programme and to support teaching staff in what is needed.
- Very recently graduated from the IC programme or expecting to graduate successfully this summer, as we consider knowing our programme from the student perspective as crucial.
- Fluent in English.

Speaking Dutch is not a requirement.
In case of equal qualification for this position, we will give preference to candidates with an international background.

What do we offer?

We offer a temporary contract for one year which may eventually be extended to another year. The contract will start on the 1st of September 2022. The gross salary will be a minimum of € 2.705,- and maximum € 3.998,- per month depending on former work experience (please note - these amounts are for a 1,0 fte appointment). It’s a scale 9 function according to the Collective Working Agreements for higher education in the Netherlands (CAO HBO). In addition, you will be entitled to holiday pay and a year-end bonus. .
