The Institute for Marketing Management of Hanze University provides an educational environment to inspire and activate professionals focusing on market-oriented entrepreneurship of the national as well as international business world. With its 2000 students and around 130 employees, SIMM is one of the largest institutes of Hanze University of Applied Sciences (Hanze UAS).

The school offers a Bachelor degree programme in Marketing Management in both a Dutch-taught major (Commerciële Economie) and an English-taught major (Marketing Management). Furthermore the school offers a bachelor in Entrepreneurship and Retail Management and an Associate degree programme Entrepreneurship.

The English programme was started three years ago and now caters for students from over 40 countries. In the years to come the curriculum will continue to be reshaped, redesigned to implement new educational insights and to meet the requirements of the changing (international) market in order to ensure that our marketers are geared up perfectly for their future jobs.

Due to a growth in our student numbers we have new opportunities for the position of Lecturer(s) Marketing

We are looking for a lecturer with a proven track record in the following fields in our curriculum:
- Marketing Communication (Omni channel), Brandmanagement and CSR
- Strategic Marketing, Change management, Sales and CRM

Organisational setting

Our new colleague will become part of the educational team of Marketing Management and will report to the programme manager.

Teaching tasks

As a lecturer, you inspire students in (one or more of) the fields of Marketing Communication and Online Marketing. You coach students in project groups and support the process of active learning. You contribute to the internationalization and innovation of Marketing Management. You translate relevant developments in the professional field into parts of the curriculum and together with colleagues you re-develop parts of the curriculum, teaching methods, study material and assessment tools, using the full possibilities of Blended Learning. You are in close contact with the professional field and you share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues.


- Relevant Master degree;
- Broad marketing professional, with recent professional experience in one or more areas of expertise (Marketing Communication and Strategic Marketing)
- Active professional marketing network;
- International experience;
- Teaching experience in higher education;
- Ability to participate in international and interdisciplinary teams;
- Innovative spirit;
- Excellent proficiency in English language, a working proficiency in Dutch;
- Having a PhD is an asset.

We like to see the international and intercultural ambitions of our programme reflected in our team. In order to compose a multicultural team we specifically invite candidates with non-Dutch cultural backgrounds.

Conditions of Employment

This is a lecturer position for 0,6–1,0 fte, starting per February 1st 2020. It concerns a one year, temporary contract which may be renewed. The exact extent of the position will depend on background, knowledge and interests. The appointment is subject to current cao-hbo guidelines. The function scale is 11. The salary will amount to a gross minimum of € 3.360,- and a gross maximum of € 4.892,- per month based on a full time position. In addition, you will be entitled to holiday pay and a year-end bonus. Hanze UAS offers plenty of opportunities for further development in your field. A certificate of good conduct may be required. You will get reimbursement for the fee by the Hanze University..
