Communicatie.

Getting things to work well is often about understanding people and their differences. Colleagues, team members, employees, customers may share a common purpose but they probably have many differences in the way they work communicate and go about making themselves effective; this can create unnecessary frictions and misaligned expectations.

MindTime

The MindTime theory presents time as a universal organizing principle. It reveals people's thinking at work in many aspects of organizational life, It also informs how organizations can more effectively interface with their clients and markets, and it can humanize a myriad of products and services.

Mostly we think of time as the ‘thing’ that we use to organize our lives—minutes, hours, days, weeks and years—few understand that time is the mechanism with which we form our very perceptions of reality and our thoughts.

To change our circumstances and be at peace we must become conscious of the true nature of time and its impact on our lives. It is through evolving this awareness that we can increase resonance and decrease conflict, individually and collectively. The MindTime model shows that people blend, to varying degrees, the three foundational constructs of human thinking: past-thinking, present-thinking, and future-thinking.

If you’re curious about Mindtime and about how it could help you in communicating and understanding people, then assign to the tastery that Noorderlink and Mindtime are organizing together.

Contents training

In this 180 minute high-impact tastery you will:

  • learn what shapes people’s points of view
  • learn how to use MindTime cards to identify individuals’ points of view
  • learn two new ways to use MindTime cards to explore challenges and find solutions
  • learn how to play a winning hand every time

Our 4 step process:

  1. In the first 20 minutes we build a simple model of people’s different points of view
  2. We learn the basics of using MindTime cards, a way to discover these differences
  3. We identify a real challenge in front of you and practice playing your cards right
  4. Finally, we make it stick by integrating this innovative method into your everyday work

The result:

  • a new way of thinking about people and their points of view
  • increased personal confidence in your ability to proactively solve people challenges
  • increased empathy for the people around you and their differences
  • a new language that reveals and deals with our differences in a positive, productive manner

The trainer

John Furey is an author, keynote speaker, problem solver and has worked with companies, universities, government agencies and other organizations in Europe and the USA. He is also the founder and thought leader of the MindTime project, a 22 year-long collaboration between psychologists, HR and management experts, technologists, designers, organisational specialists, trainers and coaches, all engaged in investigating the MindTime theory and framework. The MindTime Theory, which he first authored in 1995, presents a new and radically different understanding of human differences (perceptions, thinking processes and styles, motivations, behavioral drivers and how people collaborate most effectively).

Under John’s leadership, the MindTime project has also pioneered the development of powerful online tools capable of mapping thinking in organizations, communities and even societies. The MindTime Maps platform is successfully being used in change navigation practices as well as organizational development.

In 2017 he set up the mindtime foundation in Groningen, a social sciences foundation dedicated to helping people understand people.
